BLE devices advertise on channels 37, 38, 39 (2.402 / 2.426 / 2.480 GHz) up to 10× per second.
Each packet contains MAC address, device name, signal strength (RSSI), and optional manufacturer data.
RSSI is in dBm. -40 dBm = very close. -90 dBm = edge of range.
Every 6 dBm ≈ 2× distance change. Web Bluetooth API lets a browser listen with user permission — no pairing needed.
